Finally! After days of anxieties and sleepless nights, I was able to get my business blog right on track.

That’s the trouble with too much technology sometimes – one wrong mouse click, and there goes your blog to ‘kingdom come!’

Although the blog is still running with a ‘Break-in‘ sign attached to its bumper as it seems not to be running smoothly yet… because I really don’t understand how I got it back or if there’s anything else I should do.

That new short stories blog is really causing me lots of frustrations… more than I expected in setting up a new blog.

But nonetheless, what’s important for now is I got my blog back, and like I said… it’s business as usual.

Holiday pay guidelines

The whole country will observe Holy Week next week. It is a week that only have two working days, which prompts the labor department to remind employers of the holiday pay guidelines.

As stated in the Proclamation 1699, declaring the list of official holidays in the Philippines, Araw ng Kagitingan (April 9) was moved to April 6, the Monday nearest to it.

April 9 and 10, meanwhile, are Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, which leave only April 7 and 8 as the official working day for the day.

More benefits for Philhealth members

This couldn’t come at a more appropriate time, an increased in benefits of PhiliHealth members. Come April 5, 2009, members will enjoy a 35% increased in benefits, in almost all possible benefits a member can avail of.

Although, reading from the PIA website, the motivation for 35% increase for members is President Arroyo’s birthday (sounds political, if you ask me). Anyway, for whatever reason as long as we, members, get to avail of these benefits without hassle and prejudice.

Philhealth increased members’ benefits by 35%

Philhealth members would definitely welcome this news: members’ benefits increased by 35%, an increased that covers almost all possible benefits a member can avail of.

The increased members’ benefits will be effective starting April 5, 2009. The good news was reported by Rey Aquino, president and CEO of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation.
