Indeed, summer is already here… and so is summer heat! And this brings business opportunities to homebased people… and your neighbors will even thank you for it!
I’m talking about businesses that will help them tolerate, and enjoy summer. These businesses are as follows:
Halo-halo
Yes! That good old concoctions of sweetened fruits and colorful flavors, topped with crushed ice is always a welcome treat during summer. And if you do good, you can even continue this business all-year round!
And to add a twist, you can even offer Halo-halo delivery. Your neighbors would only need to text you, so they won’t even need to go under the sun’s heat.
Nothing like an extra service to keep your customers happy!

Pacquiao’s Victory, can we learn business discipline from it?
December 7, 2008, Philippine time. All eyes were glued on the television and every Filipino was very happy when Manny Pacquiao won over Oscar dela Hoya. From this victory, can we learn something that can be applied in business?
Yes we can… and we should. And what can these be? There are actually a lot of them, and here are just some:
Focus
Pacman has a lot of things to do aside from boxing. He has a hosting stint on local television, some businesses he invested in, social obligations he has to attend to, and of course his family. But when the need arise to focus on his mission, focused he was, and his sight was set on his desired result – to win the match.
Every entrepreneur should always be focused on what he wishes to accomplish in his endeavors. Taking everything that distracts his attention aside, until he has established his business.
Get all the details first
My recent experience with Rated K has taught me a lot. One, is that you should always get all the details first before agreeing on anything, especially the remuneration, if there is anything involved. Because I thought this was something that is ‘automatic’ I never really asked about it, or I was too shy about it.
It was not really my concern at the start actually, but after getting my internet connection suspended, my finances suddenly became an issue to me. I was hoping I can get anything from it. But since it was something that was not really discussed, I guess I should not really expect anything.
Although I was advised by a friend that I have the right to ask since they will be earning from my story (yes, those ads are not cheap are they?) Unfortunately, I just do not have the courage to ask. And since I did not ask, I did not receive.
In fairness, I did get a little honorarium, which is enough to cover the income I lost from being absent for 3 days from work.
So there it is, before getting into anything, it won’t hurt to ask “What’s in it for me?”
