Spamming is not marketing

SPAMMING IS NOT MARKETING!

It is not even bad or unethical marketing. It is just NOT marketing! Period.

No! I am not talking about spam bots, I am referring to pseudo-entrepreneurs who think that they are being clever when they post their product spiels anywhere.

And these spammers are everywhere – from online forums, in your emails, social media, and even in your mobile phone! You’ll wonder how they got your number when you received a text message offering a vacation house somewhere at the south.

Is it still safe to put your money in the bank?

With, yet again, the closure of Banco Filipino Savings and Mortgage Bank last week by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), the simplistic mind of Juan Dela Cruz cannot help but ask, “Is it still safe to put your money in the bank?

True, bank deposits are insured by the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corp. (PDIC) to a MAXIMUM of P500,000 PER depositor. In fact, PDIC is now already processing deposit insurance payments to the depositors of Banco Filipino. But we all know that claiming your money from a closed bank is not a walk in the park.

Investing in pre-need companies have failed us. IT FAILED ME! I wanted to be a responsible father who prepared for his kids’ future, so invested in CAP… and BANG! Just like that. Everything went down the drain. No thanks to our government who seems to do nothing to help alleviate our plight.

Have you signed up for a trade exhibit yet?

As I have mentioned in previous posts, many entrepreneurs are usually starting in their foray in the business world during the holidays. That is because during this season, many trade show exhibits are being organized in malls, subdivisions and schools. Participating in trade shows or trade fairs is a great way to introduce your business, because it does not require much business papers for one to join. You can test the market for your product before you actually go mainstream.

Business failure… reasons

Here I am writing what I believe were some of the reasons why I failed in my businesses before. I am writing them here for two reasons. Primarily, for me to serve as a reminder so that I may not repeat the same mistakes, and second, for those who may read this may learn too from my experiences, and thus save them costly errors in their own business.

Reasons for failing in business :

A medley of knowledge
I would like to think of myself as a talented person. I know how to do a lot of things.

But apparently, “Jack of all trades – master of none” didn’t work for me. In fact, it could probably be one of the main reasons I failed. I know a lot of things, yet I wasn’t able to develop anything into a full grown opportunity.

How do you put out a fire?

March 27, 2010 by Roy · 7 Comments

How do you put out a fire? By dousing it with water! That’s right; to kill a fire you simply douse it with water.

Now, how do you kill enthusiasm? Simple, by dousing it with water!

Now why and how, you may ask, pour water on enthusiasm? I’m not really referring to physical water here, of course you know that.

I used the analogy because enthusiasm is like a fire burning within an individual. People doused it with water by simply saying NO! STOP! THAT CAN’T BE DONE!

This is one of the most common management mistakes. Sometimes, an individual comes along with a new or an improved idea. Enthusiastically, he shares to the bosses, very confident that this idea would improve performance, cut costs, lead to better sales or really create big changes within the organization.
