Official list of Philippine Holidays for 2009

To avoid surprises due to sudden declaration of holidays in Philippines, palace recently released the list of official Philippine holidays for 2009.

With this list, the business sector, educational institution and other private individuals can plan ahead for the year.

The official list of holidays are as follows:

Regular Holidays:

  • April 9 – Maundy Thursday
  • April 10 – Good Friday
  • April 6 – (Monday nearest April 9) Araw ng Kagitingan (or Day of Valor)
  • May 1 – Labor Day
  • June 12 – Independence Day
  • August 31 – National Heroes Day
  • November 30 – Bonifacio Day
  • December 25 – Christmas Day
  • December 30 – Rizal Day

“I won’t believe her anymore!”

I won’t believe her anymore! These are the words of my thirteen-year old son. He was referring to no other than Her Excellency President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. Now, you might wonder what does thirteen-year old has to do with the president? How could she have affected him? Or is my son really aware of what’s happening to our country?

Not that he is really aware or anything, but my son have learned that during her SONA, PGMA mentioned something about reduction of the cost of text messaging. I can’t remember but I think she said that they were able to lower text messaging from 1-peso to 50-centavos. My son was very much aware of this. That is why he was very much glad of this news.
